A sense of wonder will quietly take hold of you as you contemplate this marvel, until you realize that this is not a place you simply visit and leave behind it is a place that will remain within you forever.

The Giza Plateau is home to the pyramids of Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure, alongside the Sphinx, the Valley Temple and the Queens’ Pyramids. The open-air site is easy to explore on foot, while entering the pyramids themselves requires a separate ticket, purchased at the gate. Most visitors arrive around midday, see the pyramids from the outside and leave, but there is a much better way to experience the plateau: enter at 8am and walk to the far panorama point. It is the same place, yet the experience feels completely different — quieter, calmer and far more immersive.
