About this place

NMEC is organised around Egyptian civilisation as a continuous story rather than a single period. Its central gallery connects society, crafts, writing and statehood across eras, while the Royal Mummies Hall displays the royal mummies transferred in the celebrated 2021 Golden Parade.

See the main gallery first, then enter the mummies hall slowly. On Fridays, the museum adds an evening session from 6:00 to 9:00 PM after the daytime session.

It presents Egypt’s long history as one story, followed by a purpose-designed, quiet and respectful presentation of the royal mummies.
