The Child Museum for Civilization and Creativity opened in Heliopolis in 1996 and reopened after redevelopment in 2012. Its approach starts with the way children learn through observation and experimentation, bringing Egyptian civilization, nature and science into a setting designed for participation.
Indoor displays and the surrounding garden allow a change of pace between exhibits and outdoor space. Questions about people and their environment can lead into activities that make an idea more tangible. The experience varies with age and the activities available, but curiosity remains the starting point for exploring the museum.
