The Pyramids of Giza

Open now Visit 3–4h Crowds 5/5 Photos 5/5 c. 2560 BC

One plateau holding three pyramids — Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure — plus the Sphinx, the Valley Temple and the Queens' pyramids. The oldest of the seven wonders and the only one still standing. The open-air site is walkable; going inside any pyramid needs a separate ticket.

Most people arrive at midday, see the pyramids from outside and leave. The single best thing you can do is enter at 8am and walk to the far panorama point — same site, completely different experience.
